About TIC Council

Leading companies in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) industry have launched the TIC Council, a new international association representing independent third-party verification. Born from the merger of former global TIC industry organizations IFIA and CEOC, the TIC Council will be based in Brussels and bring together 90 member companies and organizations from around the world to speak with one voice.

“The global TIC industry is a reliable ally to companies, governments and society. As independent third parties, we help organizations to navigate the complex world of international trade and regulations, and we help create a safe and sustainable environment for people everywhere. All members of the TIC Council are committed to the highest standards of ethics and integrity,” said Michael Fübi, CEO of TÜV Rheinland and President of the TIC Council.

The independent TIC industry provides a wealth of services, including product testing, certification and valuation of shipments, industrial inspections, management system certification, training, construction controls and marine classification. Its competences and services are provided across all sectors of the economy throughout the value chain. The TIC industry represents around a million employees across the world with annual sales of approximately USD 200 billion.

“The TIC Council engages governments and key stakeholders to advocate for effective solutions that protect the public, facilitate trade and support innovation With the expertise and competence of our members, we can be valuable advisors to policy-makers around the world on how to use TIC services. We help further develop required regulations to protect consumers without hindering innovation or adding unnecessary burden on the industry,” added Ms Hanane Taidi, Director General of TIC Council.
